Toyota Motor: Automobile Museum to Hold 33rd Vintage Car Festival in Japan

For motorsport in Japan, 2022 is a special year: FORUM8 Rally Japan 2022 will be held in Aichi in November, preceded by the opening of the Fuji Motorsports Museum in October as a branch of the Toyota Automobile Museum. To celebrate these events, “motorsport” has been chosen this year as the theme of the Classic Car Festival. Led by a rally car driven by local racing professionals Teruo Katsuta and his son Norihiko, classic cars made 30 or more years ago will parade through the city of Nagakute.

The parade route runs through downtown Nagakute so that many spectators can stop and cheer. About 100 private cars will depart from the museum and parade through the city before reaching the Aichi Expo Memorial Park. The spectacular motorcade will include vehicles spanning 100 years of automotive history in Japan, the United States and Europe.

The parade vehicles will be on display at the venue, where a variety of events will be held, including talks by the two Katsutas and their associates, who will discuss FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) attractions and things to look forward to. in the final round in Japan (rd. 13) from November 10. This year, the Toyota Automobile Museum will resume vehicle display, after refraining from doing so in 2020, 2021. A demonstration of Toyota 7 engine performance is not to be missed! The event area offers car restoration process presentations, GR (Gazoo Racing) heritage pieces and road safety awareness programs.

The event will be broadcast later on the Toyota Automotive Museum’s official YouTube channel and Himawari cable television service (Himawari 11).

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections, the number of attendees at the Aichi Expo Memorial Park site will be appropriately limited. If Aichi Prefecture is under a state of emergency on the day of the event, for example, entry will be severely restricted.
