This Ferrari F40 model with gasoline engine can be driven by a child, here is its price

No, driving a supercar isn’t just for adults. Children can also indulge in the pleasure of driving a sports car thanks to scale models made either by manufacturers or by toy manufacturers. And just like real cars, some of these little vehicles are more luxurious than others.

The RM Sotheby’s auction held during the 2022 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance lists one of these children’s supercars. And not just any: it is a reproduction of the Ferrari F40, here called F-Racer Junior. Very detailed, the machine is 2.6 meters long and 1.6 meters wide, and still weighs almost 250 kilos.

The level of detail in this reproduction of the famous 1980s supercar is not only in the design, but also in the mechanics. The car is equipped with a 270 cc gasoline engine, which allows it to reach the maximum speed of 64 km/h. This real little kart is also equipped with a gearbox, independent suspensions, a rear differential and even hydraulic disc brakes.

Inside this F-Racer Junior, two occupants can take place in bucket seats in red fabric. Seat belts are present, as is combined instrumentation. The roof is removable, so you can enjoy this miniature F40 with your hair in the wind. And as on the original F40, the engine is covered with Lexan glazing.

According to RM Sotheby’s, this F-Racer Junior can be driven by a child or an adult. Its price is estimated between $30,000 and $40,000, or around €29,400 and €39,170 at the time of this article’s publication. The auction takes place on Friday, August 19, 2022. In 2021, a similar model was knocked down and sold for the exceptional sum of $114,000.
