The Hyundai i30 N beats Ford in the German magazine’s car comparison

Hyundai Motor’s i30 N performance sedan beat the Ford Focus ST in the German magazine’s comparative car evaluation.

According to Hyundai Motor on Tuesday, AutoBild, a German automotive magazine, recently conducted a car comparison between Hyundai Motor’s i30 N and the Ford Focus ST.

During the evaluation, Hyundai Motor’s i30 N received a total of 278 points, surpassing the Ford Focus ST’s score of 254 points.

The i30 N is the first model of Hyundai Motor’s N performance car brand and was released in 2017.

The i30 N, which is currently sold in the European market, is a facelift model with an improved exterior design.

In addition, it has been improved in terms of performance, such as the increase in maximum power and the application of 8-speed DCT.

The two vehicles compared by AutoBuild have similar specs. Hyundai Motor’s i30N and Ford Focus ST are equipped with a 4-cylinder turbo engine with the same maximum power of 280 hp.

Both models are front-wheel drive and the bodywork is also identical to that of a 5-door hatchback. The only big difference is the transmission. The Focus ST comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the i30 N is applied with the 8-speed DCT.

Hyundai Motor’s i30 N also received high marks for its excellent interior comfort and simple infotainment system.

AutoBuild explained that the i30 N offers wider interior space than the Focus ST, and its analog dash and physical buttons are sleek and enhance vehicle convenience.

In the acceleration test, the i30 N recorded 5.7 seconds to reach 100 km/h from zero, which is 1.1 seconds faster than the Focus ST.

In addition, the strong acceleration of the i30 N continued to reach 130 km, 160 km and 200 km/h.

It recorded 20.4 seconds to reach 200 km/h, 5.3 seconds faster than the Focus ST. In the acceleration test during overtaking maneuvers, i30 N also beat Focus ST. (ANI/Global Economy)
