Skoda has now diagnosed the problem and says the company will replace the fuel pumps with a more robust unit for free.

Based on the majority of social media posts, we suspect that the issue appears to be on the 1-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. Skoda says the problem could be due to the difference in fuel quality across the country.

As the issue was diagnosed by Skoda, we expect Skoda to issue a recall on Skoda Kushaqs with the faulty fuel pump.

Reflecting on this assumption, Zac Hollis, Director of Sales and Marketing, Skoda India also hinted at a pre-emptive recall of all Skoda Kushaqs that have not yet faced the issue.

Skoda Kushaq is built on MQB-A0 IN, which is derived from the proven MQB-A0 platform from the Volkswagen Group.

Apart from that, Skoda Kusaq is offered in India with two engine options and both being gasoline only. The 1.0-liter TSI 3-cylinder is the most frugal with 115 hp and 178 Nm of torque, this engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, but there is also an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox. .

The 1.5-liter TSI engine is the most powerful with 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Although this engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission and an automatic transmission option, the automatic transmission is a more advanced 7-speed DCT gearbox.

As for the features, the Skoda Kushaq comes with a lot of features such as a large 10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment system, cooled seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rear view camera, LED headlights, wireless charger, tactile air conditioning. commands and a few others.

At present, Skoda Kushaq prices start at Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base petrol variant, while the high-end model goes up to Rs 17.6 lakh (ex-showroom).

Although social media platforms were inundated with many posts of broken Skoda Kushaqs, the Czech brand quickly diagnosed the problem. This shows the brilliant team of engineers behind the brand.

Apart from that, we expect the Czech brand to offer free replacement of defective parts to its customers.
