M12 FUEL Extended Reach High Speed Ratchet Wrenches

Milwaukee Reaches New Lengths with M12 Fuel Extended Reach Ratchets

Whether you’re a professional mechanic or a hobbyist, you know how important it is to have the right tool for the job. When it comes to access, some tools are just too bulky to fit in the tight nooks and crannies of an engine bay. Second-generation Milwaukee M12 Fuel extended-reach pawls dramatically reduce head size while trading torque for speed. Find out if the design of these ratchets can help you better access those hard-to-reach areas.

Milwaukee M12 Fuel High Speed Extended Reach Ratchets: The Big Deal

These ratchets are available in 3/8″ and 1/4″ models. Both versions feature a maximum torque of 35 lb-ft. This matches the torque output of the M12 Fuel high-speed pawls, but reduces the capabilities of the standard extended pawls by 20 ft-lbs. In addition, they reach speeds of up to 450 rpm. That’s about 200 rpm faster than the DeWalt Xtreme 12V extended ratchet and the Ryobi 18V extended ratchet. The Makita XRW01 ratchet still holds the top spot in terms of speed with a crazy 800 rpm.

The advantage of these new models really seems to be their slim and compact profiles coupled with high speed. Their extended neck design provides 20 percent more reach than competitive ratchets, according to Milwaukee. Plus, that compact head profile and recessed forward-reverse shift knob allows for an access area of just 0.76 inches!

To ensure comfort and ease of use in any position, Milwaukee designed these ratchets with a long-reach, variable-speed paddle trigger.

It’s hard to give up tools that we know work well, even when they have certain drawbacks, like being attached to a pneumatic hose. However, with the new thinner heads of these Milwaukee M12 Fuel Extended-Reach ratchets, you don’t feel like you’re sacrificing performance. More and more, hoses, cords and regular maintenance are a thing of the past.
