2022 Mazda 3 specs details: new engines, grades and specs coming for rivals Toyota Corolla, Hyundai i30 and Kia Cerato with update – Car News

Mazda Australia has confirmed that a MY22 update for the Mazda3 will arrive in the coming months, with the fourth generation small car getting a new engine option, new qualities and new features.

While pricing and full spec details have yet to be released, Mazda3 hatchback and sedan update MY22 is now available to order and entry-level G20 Pure adds direction and a leather-trimmed gear selector.

The next G20 Evolve is no more, having been replaced by the G20e Evolve, which adds a fuel-saving 24 V mild hybrid system to the 114 kW / 200 Nm 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine of the G20 variants.

Finally, the flagship X20 Astina can no longer be fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox like the rest of the range (excluding the G20e Evolve), with a six-speed torque converter automatic now standard.
